Project Overview:

The Boudreaux Group has been engaged by the University of South Carolina to renovate the Health Sciences Building for use by the School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Located in the Historic Horseshoe District, the building will be completely transformed on the interior while maintaining and improving the historic exterior character. Life safety and building system improvements are of utmost importance to this renovation.

With goals of maximizing flexibility and creating dynamic learning spaces that facilitate social interaction, this renovation will focus on creating a technology infrastructure that can be adapted to the ever-changing needs of the Journalism School’s technology-intensive curriculum. Unique spaces to this building include creative newsrooms and a broadcast studio showcased through glass walls. The building itself will capture the multi-media energy of the communications industry and will welcome students, alumni, professionals and the community alike.
