Historic Columbia is developing a grant program with the Society of Architectural Historians to offer field trips of Main Street and would love to include AIA Columbia as a program partner. This would include individual commitments from some of our members to assist with 4-5 field trips talking with small groups of students about architecture – historic and contemporary.
Pretty straight forward…we’d only be asking for time from a handful of members. For the tours with the students, we would need one AIA member to help facilitate each tour. This would likely see a commitment of 90 minutes during each tour. We have planned for two field trips for each class we work with, so the total possible field trips would be eight.
Dates and further details forthcoming. http://www.sah.org/conferences-and-programs/field-trip-program

If you have a special interest in architectural futurism or film noir, we are needing someone who can speak with some authority or eloquence on these matters. In total, perhaps 4 to 6 hours of your time total will be required over the course of several weeks.
Please contact either Adriane McGillis at amcgllis@stevens-wilkinson.com or Tara Jerdan at tjerdan@Boudreauxgroup.com if you would be interested in volunteering for this opportunity and to learn more.
